Focus on Learning the stories of our favorite heroes and fairy tale characters. Students spend time playing themed games and activites leading to a short 5-10 min showcase at the end of a session.

Improv Playhouse production subject matter is adjusted for the appropriate age group.

Improv Playhouse has at its focus the personal integrity of its young performers and will not produce inappropriate material, that which is exclusionary and/or demeaning, or that which compromises the developmental focus of its community of young performers

COVID19-2020 ADOPTED POLICY

AS WE ADAPT AND MODIFY OUR POLICIES.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.Camp deposit refund policies are changing around the nation due to Covid-19 protocols and state guidance.  Below you will find our refund policies respected under normal conditions.  However, should refunds be requested at this time, we are forbearing any refunds and crediting accounts for future camps or programming.  Camps will be held with smaller groups and safe spaces for the summer of 2020.  Additional options will be forthcoming.

 REFUND TRANSFER TO DONATION

Should you wish not to take any of our smaller camp group options this summer or forward your credit to future camp sessions or academic year workshops would you please consider donating your deposit, a portion or your full tuition to Improv Playhouse Community Outreach and Education.  Scholarships are provided for many students as well as programming offered to under-served communities during normal cultural circumstances and, especially, during this difficult time.   A tax deductible receipt can be provided from IP-COE, recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization.

EACH CAMP BRINGS:  IP quality staff leaders tested daily.  The same counselor/leaders through the week. Small group engagement.  Creative and physical activities.  The security of your home/neighborhood.  Covid Free peace of mind.

LIMITED REGISTRATION:  1 Host Home.  Minimum 4 Campers - Maximum 6 Campers.

  THEATER or MUSICAL THEATER CAMP:  Bring IP Theater Camp to your home and friends in the neighborhood.  Daily activities include, but not limited to:  Theater games, selection or creation of scripts and themes, singing, acting fun and training, costuming, crafting.

PUPPET PALS CAMP:  Your camper and friends will learn the joy of creating their very own puppet show, crafting puppets out of household items, creating voices for their characters and devising the story to be performed for their family and friends (social distancing enforced). 

 

DISNEY THEME CAMP:  Prince and Princesses.  Heroes and Villains.  A little imagination goes a long way as we integrate some music, vocals, wardrobe, crafts and fun culminating in a showcase for you and the neighbors.  Maybe a special guest visitor during the week to surprise your Disney fans!


IMPROV CAMPJoin in the fun of improv comedy games each day culminating in a small, safe family showcase at the end of our week.


 

DIGI-FILM MAKING CAMP: Learn to use your phone and accessible gear in your household to create an easy story board, script and share your digi-film in one week and beyond!

ACTIVITY ARTS CAMP:  Arts and crafts, Body movement, games in the park or back yard make this CampToYou experience a joy for children filling the neighborhood with laughter and joy.

SCIENCE-ENVIRONMENT CAMP:  Why aren't there volcanoes in Illinois, and why is Illinois so flat? How do glaciers transform the earth? Where does recycling and garbage go?  What can we discover in our own neighborhood that reveals our changing planet? Play with bubbles and chemistry-fun with non-toxic household items.  Each day might focus on a different theme of fun and learning:, wildlife ecology and tracking, tree identification, soil science, and mapping with GPS.  Save the planet…from home!
